NKRA EDUCATION

Ok, kalau dalam post sebelum ni dah share pasal NKRA CRIME, so ni nak share pasal NKRA EDUCATION…


QUESTION : Explain the objectives of NKRA EDUCATION.

Answer :

Introduction : Briefly explain on NKRA CRIME

Point 1 :  Develop & strengthen the preschool education.
  • can ensure increse the interest & continuity
        in higher level
  • Children can get early education at early age
  • Government increase number of preschool
  • Government give Rm 150.00 per month for one children for family that cannot send their children to public preschool.
  • Increase the number of preschool in Malaysia under the KPM, JPNIN, KEMAS & Private pre-school
  • Introduce KSPK (Kurikulum Standard Pra-sekolah Kebangsaan) to ensure the uniformity of pre-school education.

Point 2 : Increase literacy & numeracy rates.

  • Ensuring that all children have acquired basic literacy and numeracy skills after 3 years of education.
  • Screening conducted 3 times a year to help identify students who will either be placed into the LINUS remedial programme or into a Special Education programme they have a learning disability.
  • New literacy and numeracy modules developed where easier-to-grasp concepts will be covered earlier and more emphasis will be placed on the application of the concepts learned.
  • Training of approximately 17,000 teachers to deliver the new LINUS modules.
  • Approximately 89% of primary school have filled some information about LINUS.
  • There are 37% student of Year 1 passed the literacy level that was fixed and 46% passed the numeracy level.(April 2010).

Point 3 : Creating High Performance School (HPS/SBT)
  •   SBT defined as school that have ethos, character, own identity and unique and glowing in all education aspect. 
  • In order to become SBT, school are required to fill up several criteria  including the academic achievementalumni supportrecognition and create network and network at international levels.
  • Government aim to develop 20 SBT towards year 2010 and 100 SBT towards 2012. (sekrng da 52)
  • Would be given autonomy in management and academic : SBT would be given flexibility in choosing   curriculum and instruction method includingselection process and teacher relocation if teacher performance not reach the satisfaction.
  • Will be given financial funds and incentives  for schoolschool leaderteacher and non-academic staff


Point 4 : Head Teachers Quality : NEW DEALS/BAI’AH THROUGH PERFORMANCE BASED ASSESSMENT   (PBA)  TO EVALUATE SCHOOL HEADS  (PRINCIPALS  AND HEAD TEACHERS) BY 2010

  • 70% gred Purata Sekolah (ASG) + 30% Malaysian Quality Education Standard
  • ASG- UPSR, PMR ,SPM
  • MQES – mission,vission,management of organization
  • Completion of the performance ranking of the 9,900 government schools (which will be used as a baseline to design reward and remedial programmes for head teachers)
  • From sub-NKRA all primary school was ranked into 7 band which is band 1-4 consist of excellent schools that achieved the target while band 5-7 consist of low performance schools. Due to the low performance school, so, KPM had roused School Improvement Programme to help school increase the performance respectively.
